MSNBC viewers votes on who won GOP debate

From The Opinion Wiki

Image:Createicon.png

by user Cassidysummers

Template:Promo You can view all the videos of the republican debate here. After the debate, MSNBC uploaded these videos. They gave everyone a chance to vote on who they thought was the winner. The clear winner was Congressman Ron Paul. He had the most votes from the viewers on the website. Im in the middle of watching the videos right now, so I have no say as to who I think won. However, by the vote count, Ron Paul won. The day after the vote went up, Ron Paul had the most votes. MSNBC then deleted the vote count, there were no other candidates that were even close to Ron Paul's vote count. Why did MSNBC delete the vote count? Why did they then say the next day that the winner was not Ron Paul? Why does the media try to manipulate our minds?

Tell me people, who do you think had the best stances during the debate? Post your opinions, go watch the videos.

That is, unfortunately, only the first step the public takes: voicing their negative opinion. When large numbers of them do that, CEOs take notice, because it could mean a fall in profits.

When CEOs fail to take notice, and there is no other remedy, that's when the boycotts, then demonstrations, and then riots ensue.

Also, the poster who was apparently seriously advocating suicide was probably only interested in getting this list of comments removed (because it advocates suicide), thus attempting to further squash discussion on this issue.

Anonymous cowards who pop in to discussion boards to tell people, "this is a non-issue", or level ad-hominem attacks against strangers, are the ones with something to conceal.

My guess is that people who tend to hang out online are a bit more educated and engaged than your average voter; the wealth of information online makes you ask more questions. Ron Paul reflected that skepticism in his debate spots and the internet lit up in approval. I would think that ron paul's message is speaking to more highly educated people and his success online reflects the relationship between his base and the internet - two places where more educated people hang out. In reality the polls, are over-representing him because the rest of the republican base is stuck on dialup in rural america. This doesn't mean he doesn't have support - its just an MSNBC internet poll doesn't bring out Joe Blow America whereas election day will. My two cents.

I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that MSNBC would actually delete that though. Perhaps it may not be the full joe blow america, it may not have even been a fraction of the American people who voted on the debate, hell it could have even been a bunch of 14 year old kids and 16 year old kids who had nothing better to do. The thing is though, if this vote doesnt matter, it MSNBC is going to manipulate the vote anyways, why even have a vote in the first place? Why? There is no rational explination as to why MSNBC even deleted the vote counts, or peoples comments.

Thats like going to someones blog and commenting and having them delete your comments, which we all know as bloggers is againts our golden rules.

MSNBC should fess up to their manipulation, I wonder how many people actually think Ron Paul Didnt win this debate. (Based on MSNBC's vote count he did).

Some things I would like to point out, they stuck Ron Paul all the way to the right, the far right, he hardly had as much TV time as Mccain, or Guiliani, or Romney. The camera man Caughed during his segments more then three times, I counted it. He had shorter responses, and they always made him go last, so that no other candidates would comment on his statements or points of view.

#16, i would say that this debate is proof that your argument is wrong. look what post is leading in response on this website. a ron paul post. ron paul has taken in more that a million dollars in donations, he did well on the debate, who knows if he won that is judgement call and i think that everyone is bias on that call. i go to a lot of political sites and ron paul is always on there. he may not be the biggest guy one the sites, but he is always in the forum section. he has a very strong young person following. this is because he actually cares about the future generations, instead of being a politician that will sell his country out to corporations and bankers. i dont understand your problem with ron paul #16, ron paul says he will re-institute the contitution, minimal federal government with the states making the tough decisive decisions like gay marriage, abortion, stem cell etc.

@6: A poll has a responsibility to report what the audience shows. I alone flooded The Bush-Gore debate of 2000 in The Gainesville Sun (Major paper in Gainesville, FL), changing the results to a 70-30% win for Bush in a primarily democratic area and they still posted it. I even emailed them afterward to explain why the results were so unexpected, and it wasn't printed. The best thing to do in a situation like that is to post the number counts instead of percentages. People will start to realize that only a thousand votes can throw off the verdict.

is this vote didnt matter, if this vote has not validity, then why is MSNBC so scared to keep it how it was? Why do they delete it? Why do they manipulate it? Sure Ron Paul doesnt stand a chance, but have the decency to give him exactly what he deserves and earned.

"Nothing to see here! Move along!"

"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

Dig deeper.

I don't think many people would like being on the receiving end of a deluge of angry, poorly-reasoned, profanity-laced, accusatory phone calls or e-mails; and that is sadly what is generated by a large margin by these "calls to action." State Farm just as an example is far, far removed from the issue at hand and can have no real effect on what is being "demanded". What is really at stake here is the very fleeting satisfaction of venting and ego gratification for someone who tries to compel someone to comply with his demand. This is normally called bullying. Gets no respect from me.

Down with big media I say.

I doubt very seriously if DR. Paul's supporters were trying to manipulate anything. I'm on 32 news groups and they all are going to work his campaign. They believe in in him. I believe in his integrity and his ability to lead this nation in the way it will take to stop a nuclear war. He will be strong, fair and tough on border control. He will turn this country around. Go Ron Paul!!! He is smarter than all of the other candidates put together and people will see this and already have. The main stream will try to keep his support down but it won't work millions of people are working for him.

Again Ron Paul wins the second round of debates, although youd never know it watching the mainstream media. In the MSNBC poll he came in 2nd place to Mitt Romney although the majority of the time Ron Paul was clearly in the lead.He clearly stood out from the rest of the candidates yet again both on stage and in the polls.I believe Ron Paul is by far the best choice out of all the other candidates including in the democratic party. If i were an american citizen id vote Ron Paul in 2008.You will see how bad things get if one of these puppets like Clinton or Obama or Giuliani get in power.

I did notice that when I checked the Foxnews website, that the poll they prominently show in the politics selection was done in Mid-April and Rudy G received the highest favorable rating U. Link: http://www.f...9627,00.html I checked the ABC News site a few minutes ago and Ron Paul had almost 21,000 out of 24000+ votes.

Link http://abcne...L288=4000000

I know that these online participatory polls are not "Scientific" according to proper sampling, however, at this point I would have to say that Ron Paul's supporters are being much more active (and that is an understatement) than the other candidates supporters.

Thank you for your time and I am glad that we have these forums to discuss these matters.
